I enjoyed this place immensely. The place reminds me of a chicken place in the 60's with a New York feel.
Vincent, was great. Friendly, but extremely busy. He was the only person working there.
I gave a 5 star because of these reasons.
He overcooked the food a bit, I had the chicken and waffles. $6.99. Even though he overcooked it, he threw in an extra leg. But man the food was good.
The slider was perfect. For only $0.99 I would get 10 of them the next time I'm there.
I ordered the churros, $2.99, and he threw in an extra 2 half pieces. Probably wanted to get rid I'd the broken pieces. So I definitely got my money's worth.
Going to take the wife and kids here soon. -

Walking in, it feels like one of those chicken spots in New York in the hood. This I what honestly attracted me to come here when I was in the neighborhood. I knew the place sounded familiar when I heard the name but I couldn't pin point from where. After coming in to order on a Saturday afternoon, there was only 1 person doing everything, which took about a 10 min wait for the only guy in there to take our order. Gf and I order and I saw they had news article posted on the wall. Low and behold, they're from Washington Heights in New York, my inner youth came about knowing I could have some of that greasy fried chicken I used to eat when I was growing up in New York.
Anyways, experience:
So when you walk in, it's exactly the same feel. Grimey, floors not swept, pieces of food everywhere, a few places to sit (def not a dine in spot). If you like flies flying around and dirty floors maybe a feel of how a food place in the hood of NY is, come by and experience it. But ima tell you this, I ain't eating here again unless they clean up their act. Now at this point we are like, "This place better have some bomb ass chicken.", for real.
Takes about 15 min for our food to prep and receive.
Me: 3 piece combo with cheesy fries
Gf: chicken tenders and waffles
My chicken was pretty juicy, as it was just made which was pretty good. The fries are so so, could've been in the fryer a bit longer but it's not packaged preface fries, which is good. They gave me a pint of cheese on the side instead of on top also.
The chicken tenders was just as good as the regular chicken, nice and juicy. The waffles though, they might need to change up the ingredients in it. It was very dry and chalky, and there no sweetness to it also.
So to sum up:
3
1 - chicken is pretty good and plus is all condiments are for your liking in big bottles on the counter.
2 - price was really good for the amount of food we got.
3 - this place puts a different kind of fried chicken in Miami, which isn't a fusion, but a different taste from another part of the States.
2
1 - cleanliness of the place overall could definitely use a major clean up. I could imagine the way it looks to a customer POV, what would see on the other side of the counter.
2 - maybe hire a few more people. 1 person doing everything on a Saturday afternoon and wait times for 15-20 min for food is not good, I could imagine delivery.
Both 's results from the need for better management of the restaurant. End of the day, pretty goo chicken for the price to try at least once. -

Chicken tenders deep fried so long they were almost black
My wife threw them in the trash. I had breast of chicken sandwich the ends were chared, threw half of it away
We went there starving it had great reviews but i was always skeptical of this place.you get a feeling when you walk in this could end up with a few hours in the bath room. Will let u know TBC -

My boyfriend and I were craving breakfast for dinner! Caporal Chicken serves a variety of foods from chicken tenders to chicken and waffles, chicken served in a plethora of ways is Caporal Chicken's specialty. So we both ordered the 4 piece chicken tender and waffles meal. The chicken coating was definitely delicious and tasty! The cost of the meals was worth every penny.
**I recommend trying the spicy syrup! It had the right amount of spice. Very yummy!
This fast food joint is located in the shopping mall of 8st and 147 ave. -

A taste from the past, I grew up eating Caporal Chicken snack boxes in the 70's, 80's and the 90's it was they most tasty chicken, fries and dinner roll for 1.25 as a kid in the 70's. While it's location may have moved from uptown NYC to Miami Florida it's taste and family recipe remains as tasty and joyful as my childhood. Today I was reacquainted with the tasty chicken I loved as a child! The owner greeted us with a heartfelt smile, he took care of us like a royal family and to this day I would skip a five course meal for a tasty snack box. It's hard to relate to my nostalgia, but for all those that had the privilege and pleasure of tasting the best fried chicken ever and for those that haven't I truly recommend when in town it's a must have!!!
